Apologies for any disturbance. I know it is nowdays not so popular to write about war. Who likes to read about pain and suffering after 15 years? Who cares at all about heroes such as Dino Magoda, Kemo Lilic, Igor Pavlovic, and thousands of others who bravely defended our country? Who cares about those who have given their lives so today we could live in a free Bosnia and Herzegovina? Stories such as this are usually skipped over and the project is destined to fail. I apologize again for any disturbance, however, I must once again, as there are thousands and thousands living heroes of Bosnian resistance efforts, who today, in order to survive are in a situation of having to search through garbage containers, live at the very edge of a normal life. Until now, fund Sadake has helped many demobilized heroes, let us help once again. This time, help is needed for Sabahudin Bajramovic from Vares. He is an unemployed father of small children, a soldier disabled in war, currently treated for an intestinal disease. His income, as he has said to us “Isn’t enough to buy even salt.”  more

Radioactive ammunition, which was used during the war in Bosnia and
Herzegovina has shown it's ugly face in many ways. The effects are catastrophic. Statistics of the huge number of cases of leukemia and other forms of cancer speak for themselves.

This is the story of one of our soldiers who suffers from leukemia. He is in a very difficult situation - no income of any kind and there is no one to feed his three children. We plead for your help as much as you can. more

EDINA KARIC (born in 1976) from the village of Sase near the city of Srebrenica, is one of many cases of female war victims. After being raped in Srebrenica during the war, Edina was verbally abused by her own husband. The verbal abuse became horrendous physical abuse which forced Edina to leave her home to save herself and her two children. Presently, she lives in a crumbling and damp hut where she is raising her two sons. One son is in the fourth and the other is in the sixth grade of primary school. She has no income and barely survives from day to day. HO Sadake has set aside some funds for this case and started an action to help Edina Karic. Click for_more

Asmira S. In February of this year, movie “Grbavica”, from Bosnian female director Jasmile Zbanic, won “Goldene Bär” - the most prestigious award of the Berlin film festival. At least for a short time, this movie put the focus back on the Bosnian women, victims of rape during 1992-1995 war. The movie is about one raped woman. According to some estimates there are over 25000 raped Bosnian women. We would like to add that the actual number of raped women is likely 10 times as much since many of them are unwilling to talk about their horrendous experiences. Some of the rape victims were later killed. Another contributing factor to the insufficient statistics is the lack of interest of the current government in this issue.
Asmira S. from the city of Bijeljina survived what is hard to express by words. We had a chance to talk to her. She needs help urgently. Click for more.
